| This flash drive is really fast. I tested it by downloading 7.5 GBs of pictures from my hard drive, and it took about half the time my Cruzer would need for the same. Good construction, and it comes with an extension cord for tight connections, plus a strap. |

| I'll add to the chorus here, great drive! Faster than could be reasonably expected, tough, and I even like the cap setup. I always lose little loose things like caps, but this one sticks on the end of the drive like a bic pen. Smart. |

| How awesome is this thing! I just received by 8gb last night and decided to test it out this morning. I copied 7 wav files and copied them to the drive & the transfer was almost instant. I literally said ''woah'' out loud-lol If all goes well in the next few months with this thing, i'll step up to a 32gb even though I don't need it-lol. Thanx Tiger/Comp USA, u rock! |

| Cons: No software suite preloaded (big whoop)
Pros: I couldn't wait to see what all the ''speed'' hype was all about. Upon delivery of the unit, I transferred over the contents of my 8 GB SanDisk Cruzer, using the hard drive as an intermediary.
It took about 35 minutes to copy 16,862 items of various types, comprising 3.97 GB, from the SanDisk to the HDD. It took 8 minutes less to copy the files from there to the Xporter. I copied the files back onto the HDD from the Xporter for comparison; it took 1/5 as long as the Cruzer (7 minutes).
Copying a 4.29 GB compressed copy of Ratatouille to the Xporter took 5 minutes. I didn't bother writing this to the Cruzer, or copying its original contents back. It takes much longer. And prior to the Xporter, my Cruzer was by far the fastest flashdrive I had.
I have yet to try another flashdrive that approaches the speed of the Patriot Xporter, not even a pocket USB HDD. This thing is FAST!!! |

| I just purchased the Xporter Xt Boost 16gb drive. This is by far the fastest drive I have used. Very good. I would recommend to anyone, and any more flash drives I buy will be these for sure. I was also impressed with the space. It shows 15.9gb available. I also bought an 8gb Corsair flash voyager. That only shows 7.51gb available. That is also fast, but the Patriot is noticeably faster. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. |

What Are BUS POWERED USB Devices?
USB was designed to allow many peripherals to be connected using a standard
interface port, and to improve the plug-and-play features of PCs by allowing
these devices to be connected and disconnected without rebooting the
computer! Another convenient feature includes providing power (also known as
Bus Power) to low-consumption devices without the need for an external power
supply. So Bus Powered means the device is powered by the USB Port, and not
an external power adaptor.
Bus Powered devices offer a lot of flexibility, particularly when used on
laptops and other portable devices. However, you need to determine when “bus
power” is best.
When is Bus Power best?
-
You have a desktop with ample USB ports, or
-
You have a laptop and you need to take your
Bus Powered devices with you, or
-
You only use the device intermittently and
want the simplicity of no external power adaptors, or
-
You want to keep desktop clutter to a
minimum, and want to eliminate power cables.
The best example of a USB Bus Power devices
are: USB Thumb Drives, or Passport style USB Hard Drives.
Rules for best results with Bus Powered
Devices:
-
Use a good quality USB Cable two feet or
less in length.
-
Be sure to directly connect the device to
your computer, instead of through a hub or other device - unless the USB
Hub has its own power.

Make sure your laptop battery is fully
charged.
Generally speaking, you do not want many
Bus Power devices connected at once, especially on portable devices or
laptops running on batteries. So consider unplugging unneeded devices if
necessary.
Some devices can be powered both by an external adaptor or by Bus Power. As
a general rule, you should use the external adaptor to power the device,
except when you need to use it and external power is not available. However,
higher-consumption devices, such as external optical media burners, and
large hard drives, may work best with external power.
