just so you guys know, this kit is plastic junk. I bought one from another site and thought the first one was defective, had them send me a replacement with the same problem. Then bought another set from another site thinking it might work. Same crap. Went online and found others are having same problem with the 3G phone. It might work with the old iphone but who knows....I got the 3G and it was advertised for 3G compatible. Dont waste your time and money!

Thanks for the note crashnburn. I noticed it said iphone 3g compatible, but didn't mention ipod touch, seemed sketchy.

Actually, I have it and it works fine. It's not top quality, but I wanted something that had a non-springy cord for the car so that it wouldn't pull the iPhone...

Guess I was just lucky...

i have a similar kit for my ipod and the spring-loaded cable is extremely fragile and has already stopped working. they are built really thin in order to be able to reel in, and the joints to the connectors are not specially reinforced meaning they tend to break there after some use.

Looks like cheap junk to me. Who knows though, if it works, it works!

plastic, not so strong, but works great with my iphone so far....just baby it though
