Is multi-touch really useful on a laptop tablet PC? who wants ppl smearing their finger prints all over their screen? I'll never pay for such feature.

is it worth buying

not a fan of the tablet, go try one at a store before you consider.

I rather have power then a screen on a laptop I can touch. Mouse works the same exact way.

Touch is the future of computing. That's why windows is integrating touch as the basis for Windows 7. People had the same smeary finger comments about the iphone at one point.

Reviews on the touch and multi-touch computers are mixed but the main criticism is the lack of OS integration that keeps some features from working in all programs. The applications designed for touch interfaces are generally well received. Search youtube for video reviews of touch computers before you make a decision.

It's good for art student that has to do a lot of vector tracing.

Yes, good for the artistic types or things like forms/medical

It's more useful than those $200 picture frames.

#4, would you say a pen is the same as the mouse? It is similar but a different feel and function and this tablet touch screen has that different.

I like tablet for it's resemble to the old paper and pen.. don't need the lap or 10 fingers to work with it.

But I don't think this deal is good enough.

It might also be useful for any business where forms must be filled out on the run. (Legal, insurance, medical, etc.)

Is a refurb from Dell covered by any warranty?

I prefer the Motion or Thinkpad tablets. The touch feature is really great for those who are using a tablet in a real world environment and want to use their finger or pencil eraser to trigger an action. I use this feature when I fly jets and use the tablet for navigation/approach plates/weather.

Trying to use both a tablet pen and a real pencil and switching between the two is a real drag.

Tablets can be used as large GPS units in your car

I love tablets coz I love to draw. Multi-touch is rather pointless though. 15% is not much of a deal though considering how expensive they are.

Tablets definitely have useful purposes but to each their own.

I don't think most people need tablets. Laptops are good, but I'm still depressed from the Black Friday deal I didn't buy. Was too greedy. Maybe next year to upgrade.

The lowest price I found in refurb outlet was $809 with a Core Solo processor and 40 Gig hard disk. Even with 15% off, I will go touch something else as this does not appeal.
