Features

8GB capacity: Store up to 5,050 songs or up to 30 hours of video on your Walkman video MP3 player and never be without your entertainment again.

Video playback: Play your favorite videos right on the player using MPEG-4 or M4V files.

Battery life: With up to 33 hours of audio playback and up to 8 hours of video playback you don't have to worry about charging your player.

2" LCD screen: Easily view your movies, photos and music information on the high quality, 320 x 240 (QVGA) display. Also, this display is bi-directional, meaning you can view your videos and photographs either vertically or horizontally by adjusting the screen to the orientation you prefer.

Formats supported: This player supports playback of MP3 and WMA DRM and non-DRM audio files downloaded from multiple sources. It also supports non-DRM AAC content, giving you multiple options for downloading music the way you want.

Four audio technologies: Four clear audio technologies reproduce crystal clear, CD-quality audio. The Digital Sound Enhancement Engine (DSEE) restores the higher sound frequency lost when creating compressed music files. Clear Bass enhances the bass sound while minimizing distortion. Clear Stereo reduces signal leakage from one channel to another. The EX series headphones deliver deep bass sound from a closed design that's compact, lightweight and comfortable to wear thanks to changeable silicon rubber ear-buds that also help isolate outside sounds.

USB connectivity: Download music, videos, and photos directly from your computer through the player's USB port.

Time Machine Shuffle: Shuffle play among songs from a randomly selected year. (Information will come from CD information that is downloaded from the Gracenote CDDB®).

Music search: Search for music on your Walkman video player by All Songs, Album, Artist, Genre, Release Year, Folder and Playlists.

Initial search: Use the first letter of the song, album or artist to easily find the music you are looking for.

Software: Included is a CD that contains Windows Media Player 11 and MP3 Conversion Tools.

I finally found a balanced mp3 player. Great sound quality, great screen for viewing photos and video. Build quality is also excellent. 8 GB is adequate for my needs. It needs a few more options to justify cost (I'd like a voice recorder feature , text reader, and the ability to zoom in on photos) - but for me the sound quality is what sold me. I'm hoping that updates in future firmware will allow for better file browsing options and the ability to build OTG playlists...plus the included headphonesrock - I believe they cost $70 to buy them on their own. Device is MTP only and it did NOT come with any software to convert photos or videos to the device. There is obviously some software out there to accomplish this, but included in the documentation is a link to a future release of a program that will take care of transferring and converting these files. No release date as of yet.

got this for my wife and she loves it, however still trying how to fast forward during a podcast. moving songs and podcasts to it is super easy in windows explorer, much easier than my ipod/itunes. the sound totally kicks the crap out of my nano. i have heard stuff using the same apples earbuds in this walkman that I never heard on the ipod or with my stereo. my hats off to sony for making an amazing sounding unit. the screen is also great quality for video. a steal at $99.
